Gravel bikes are ideal for riders who like to decide for themselves where the ride takes them – whether on tarmac, gravel or singletrack. A test ride will show you straight away which model suits your riding style. We also have gravel racers in our test fleet. Our test bikes are fitted with tyres that are ideal for off-road use on gravel tracks, whilst also offering good rolling performance on roads.

On a test ride, you’ll experience what it’s like to conquer the roads on a state-of-the-art road bike from brands such as BMC, Wilier, Basso or Enve. Every bend, every climb, every pedal stroke will show you what true engineering excellence means.
Custom & Limited Edition Bikes
In our collection, you’ll also find custom builds and limited-edition models that you’ll struggle to find anywhere else. For example, specialised set-ups for gravel racing. Of course, you’re welcome to test ride these exclusive bikes too. After all, your future bike shouldn’t just look perfect – it should feel perfect too.
The process of your test ride
We want your test ride to be smooth, safe and inspiring. That’s why everything we do is structured and straightforward:
Feedback & decision: After your ride, you can discuss your impressions straight away in the shop.
Advice & Selection: We’ll discuss together which model suits you best, based on your intended use, riding style and ergonomics.
Bike Fitting & Setup: On request, your test bike will be individually adjusted so that you feel comfortable straight away.
Test ride: You’ll ride along a route of your choice in the Aarau region or the surrounding area.
Prices & Terms and Conditions
Test rides at Strade Argovia are deliberately kept straightforward. We want you to decide freely, without any sales pressure, but with our full support.
- Quick test (up to 30 minutes): free of charge
- Extended test ride (1–2 hours): CHF 50 (credited towards the purchase price)
- One-day test ride (rental prices): from CHF 45
- Deposit: CHF 300 (cash or credit card)
The bikes are insured. Accessories such as pedals, a helmet or a GPS mount are available on request.

Every bike test-ridden at Strade Argovia is carefully checked before and after each ride. In our workshop and service department, we pay close attention to gear changes, brakes, tyre pressure, torque and cleanliness.
This way, we ensure that you experience your test bike in exactly the same condition as it will be delivered later, and that you enjoy the utmost riding comfort.
And if you’d like any adjustments after your test ride or have any questions about components – our workshop team is always on hand to help.
Custom Bikes & Buying Advice
After your test ride, you can buy your dream bike straight away or customise it to your liking. Many of our customers decide to go for their own custom bike after the test ride (see Custom Bikes).
You have the choice: components, colours, geometry. Everything can be customised to suit you.

Yes, you can test ride any bike in the shop, provided it’s available and in stock. This gives you the best possible opportunity to compare models.
A valid ID. You can bring your own pedals, helmet or shoes, or hire them from us – and then the fun can begin.
Standard session: 30 minutes. However, you can also hire a bike for multi-day tours and test it for longer. The hire fee will be deducted from the purchase price.
Absolutely! Many customers test two or three models before making their decision.
The test fee is credited in full when you purchase the bike. With us, you get excellent value for money.
Yes, by arrangement, it’s also possible to test your dream bike on longer rides. Just get in touch – we’d be happy to advise you.
